The first ever Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign has come to an end and it did very well with money raised going to two great causes. We talked with Tim Hortons General Manager Janice Chachulski, who says not only will the money raised be going to Tim Hortons Camps, but to a very special local organization.
All three Tim Hortons in town came together and raised $13,271. Chachulski says campaigns like this do not work without the community.
The money collected will be divided equally between Tim Hortons Camps and the Strathroy Lions Club.
A chance to cross some items off your Christmas shopping list starts Friday with the return of the Strathroy Lions Online Auction, which stays as an online event after switching from a television broadcast before the pandemic. The event will run from November 24th to December 7th, and Co-Chair Gary Zimmerman says he is excited for this years auction.
Zimmerman says this is a big time of the year for the club.
The auction can be found online at StrathroyLions.com and all items will be displayed on Rogers TV Channel 13 for viewers to get an early look. Here is the Rogers broadcast schedule for auction items.
Smile cookies are back this week, and in this case it’s the holiday cookie. From November 13th to the 19th, Tim Hortons is kicking off the holiday season with smiles and kindness with its first ever national Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, where 100% of proceeds are donated to local charities and community groups across Canada, including Tim Hortons Foundation Camps. Locally, the Strathroy locations will be raising funds for Tim Horton’s Camps and the Strathroy Lions Club, and Lions President Keith Ryan says it’s an appreciated opportunity.
Ryan says they are grateful for the opportunity, and if you want money to go back into the community, just buy a cookie.
